West Columbia, S.C., June 2, 2026 – During the 1st half of 2026, Midlands area animal rescue organizations were awarded Promoting Animal Welfare (PAW) grants by local non-profit, Southern Paw Partners, Inc. dba Thrifty Paws Boutique in West Columbia, S.C. They include: Animal Protection League, Arcadia Animal Rescue, Basset Rescue Crew of the SE (BaRSCE), Because of Roscoe, Carolina Wildlife Center, Cullen’s Archangel Rescue (CARE,) Final Victory Animal Rescue, Homeward Bound Pet Rescue, Hoppy Hearts SC, Howlmore Animal Sanctuary, Journey Home Rescue Alliance, Last Chance Ranch of SC, Lighthouse Animal Shelter, Lotsa Heart Animal Sanctuary, Purry Paws, Safe Cats Coalition, Sunset Felines, The Haven at the Farm, and Whisker Tales Rescue. A total of $8600 has being donated for the 1st half of 2026.
Southern Paw Partners, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates a charitable thrift store, Thrifty Paws Boutique, to raise much needed funding for animal rescue and welfare efforts throughout the Midlands. Proceeds from the thrift store are distributed twice a year with some donations made in emergency situations for shelter animals. Since its inception, Southern Paw Partners, Inc. has donated over $200,000 to over 40 different qualifying animal rescue groups.
“Our little thrift boutique is successfully turning the public’s gently used and new merchandise donations into proceeds that support some of the smaller animal rescue organizations, helping them save abandoned, neglected and abused animals. Gently used and new donations of merchandise are always welcome, but we truly succeed when folks shop with us,” said Southern Paw Partners, Inc.’s executive director and founder, Teresa Smith. “Our motto is, “Shop, Donate & Save. Together we can make a real difference for the animals.”
