Turning Pages SC, a nonprofit dedicated to adult literacy, is pleased to introduce its newly appointed board leadership team. The organization, committed to advancing adult literacy, looks forward to the guidance and expertise of the following individuals:

  • Kara Cieri – Chair of the Board: A literacy professional from Richland Library, Cieri brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to advancing Turning Pages SC’s mission.

  • Ashley Harris – Vice Chair: A dynamic leader and passionate social advocate, Harris assumes the role of Vice Chair, playing a crucial role in driving initiatives forward.

  • Sharon Ewing – Secretary: Known for her organizational prowess, Ewing retains her role as Secretary, contributing her administrative skills to the effective functioning of the board.

  • Chris Keefer – CFO / Treasurer: Retaining the role of CFO / Treasurer, Keefer, a grants expert with a passion for community service, continues to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.

  • Brittany Harris – External Subcommittee Chair: Recognized for her community engagement skills, Harris will lead the External Subcommittee, strengthening ties with the community and fostering collaboration and support.

  • Dr. LeConte Middleton – Internal Subcommittee Chair: A respected former principal from the K12 sector, Dr. Middleton assumes the role of Internal Subcommittee Chair, guiding internal initiatives and ensuring alignment with best practices.

Lisa Cole, Executive Director, expressed gratitude for the dedication of outgoing board leaders and welcomed the new slate with confidence. “We look forward to achieving new milestones in 2024 under this diverse leadership team,” she stated.

Public board meetings are held at Turning Pages’ office, located at 2062 North Beltline Boulevard in Columbia, every 3rd Wednesday at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend and learn more about changing lives through literacy at turningpagessc.org.
