There will be a Lexington Two School Board Candidate Forum on Oct. 17. PACE (Parents Advocating for Children’s Education) is sponsoring the forum.

A Meet and Greet will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. before the forum. A Question and Answer session will begin a 7 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.

It will be at the Bee’s Knees, 638A Pine Ridge Drive, across from Pine Ridge Middle School.

The election date for the Lexington Two School Board is Nov. 8. That is the date of the general election in South Carolina. Four candidates are running for three Lexington 2 School Board seats, said Lenice Showmaker, Lexington County Registration and Elections director. The school board is non-partisan.

The candidates are: incumbents Christina Rucker and Linda Wooten. Also running are: Kevin Key, a former Lexington Two School Board member and Chuck Hightower, who ran for the Lexington Two School Board two years ago. Current Lexington Two Board Member Bud Summers is not running for re-election.
