The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Explorer program is accepting applications for the 2021-2022 year.

Participants ages 14-20 will get a behind-the-scenes look into a career in law enforcement. Students meet every Tuesday evening during the months of September through June. Exploring is part of the Boy Scouts of America programming for young men and women.

The Explorer program offers youth a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship and patriotism.

Teens who join Post #106 will have an opportunity to compete annually, typically in June or July, in a state competition with other Explorer Posts. The competition team will be selected by post advisors based on the knowledge and proficiency of the individual Explorer.
