COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (The COMET) will implement service adjustments across several bus routes beginning Sunday, Aug. 9, as part of its ongoing effort to improve service reliability and efficiency.
The changes are part of The COMET’s regular review of operations to better align service with rider needs and travel patterns.
The August service adjustments include:
- Route 12: Additional time added to the schedule.
- Route 32: Departure times from Highland and Farrow changed to :05 past the hour instead of :10.
- Route 42: Additional time added to the schedule.
- Route 47: Additional travel time added between Vanboklen and Congaree. The first weekday trip departing Crowson Road will leave five minutes later.
- Route 55: Additional time added along Hardscrabble Road with adjusted departure times.
- Route 88: Schedule adjusted to improve on-time performance.
- Route 91: Morning departure times from COMET Central have been adjusted.
- Route 92: The trip departing COMET Central at 5:30 p.m. will now leave at 5:35 p.m. The Knox Abbott time point has been removed.

Riders are encouraged to review updated schedules before the changes take effect. New route guidebooks will be available beginning Aug. 5 on The COMET’s website, at COMET Central, and at distribution locations throughout the service area.
