Early giving for Midlands Gives Day is officially underway and will continue through the main event on May 5.
The early giving period offers donors the opportunity to support local nonprofits ahead of the big day while helping organizations qualify for sponsorship prizes—maximizing each contribution and expanding its impact across the community.
Midlands Gives Day is a community-driven fundraising event that unites more than 500 nonprofit organizations serving 11 counties in the Midlands region: Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, and Sumter.
Since its launch in 2014, Midlands Gives has raised more than $32.4 million for local nonprofits. Donors can visit MidlandsGives.org to explore causes, discover new organizations, and give directly to those making a difference.
This year, more than $110,000 in prize incentives is being provided by Central Carolina Community Foundation and In Good Company Partners.
In Good Company Partners include major supporters such as Aflac, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Dominion Energy, Southeastern Freight Lines, Truist, First Citizens Bank, and Columbia Fireflies, among others. These contributions amplify donations, allowing each gift to go further.
In 2025, more than 10,000 donors across the Midlands supported local nonprofits. Organizers hope to build on that momentum this year through early and sustained giving.
“Midlands Gives is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together as a community,” said Georgia Mjartan, president and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. “Early giving allows nonprofits to build momentum, unlock additional funding opportunities, and continue the critical work they do every day.”
On May 5, from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., the community is invited to participate by donating online at MidlandsGives.org.
As part of the celebration, the Foundation will host a Midlands Gives Day Block Party at Segra Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. The family-friendly event will include games, complimentary food and drinks, and prize opportunities for donors, who can also earn additional funds for their chosen charities.
Residents are encouraged to make an early gift and plan to participate in Midlands Gives Day on May 5.
