Free festival celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with music, food, cultural performances and family activities
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Carnaval del Barrio, one of the Midlands’ largest celebrations of Hispanic Heritage Month, will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Finlay Park in downtown Columbia. Admission is free.
The family-friendly festival draws hundreds of attendees each year and celebrates the traditions, diversity and contributions of the Hispanic community through live entertainment, cuisine, cultural performances, local artisans, community resources and interactive activities for all ages.
“Carnaval del Barrio is more than a festival, it is a celebration of our community’s rich cultural heritage and an opportunity to bring people together through music, art, food, and shared experiences,” said Tanya Rodriguez-Hodges, executive director of Limitless Community Development.
“Each year, we strive to create an inclusive event where every family feels welcomed, connected, and proud to celebrate the diversity that makes our community so special.”
