COLUMBIA, S.C. — Community members turned out in support of Sistercare during the first of this year’s three SisterCare Saturdays, held Aug. 1 at the intersection of Washington and Main streets during the popular Soda City Market.

The fundraiser benefited Sistercare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping victims and survivors of domestic violence.

One of the day’s highlights was a dunk tank featuring Columbia City Councilwoman Tina Herbert, City Councilman Peter Brown, and Columbia Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Kip, giving attendees an opportunity to support the cause while enjoying some friendly fun.

Organizers said the event drew strong community participation and helped raise funds to support Sistercare’s programs and services.

The next SisterCare Saturday is scheduled for Sept. 12 at Gather COLA.
