School District Five’s Magnet and Choice application period for the 2026–2027 school year is currently underway and will close at noon on January 28.
An online application is required for each student interested in a Magnet Program or School of Choice and is available at lexrich5.novuschoice.com.
Applicants may select up to two program or school choices and must rank them in order of preference. Families interested in only one option are not required to list a second choice. Students do not need to list their zoned school unless applying for a specific program housed within that school, such as Montessori at H.E. Corley Elementary or the STEM program at Dutch Fork High School.
District Five encourages families to explore Magnet and Choice opportunities carefully before applying. Parents and students are advised to select programs that align with the student’s interests and passions.
Information about all available Magnet and Choice programs can be found at www.lexrich5.org/choice. Families may also schedule school tours or attend information nights by contacting the school or program directly. A list of upcoming January information sessions is available on the district’s website.
Lottery and final selection notifications will be emailed to families after 4 p.m. on February 6. Each notification will include a link to accept or decline the placement. The deadline to accept an offered placement is noon on February 10.
Families who decline an offer but wish to remain in the waiting pool for another choice will be contacted if a position becomes available and must then accept or decline that offer.
For application assistance, technical support, or questions, families may contact Deborah Hill in the District Five Magnet Office at [email protected]
