COLUMBIA — Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) has announced the selection of Vickie Davis as its new Executive Director. Following a nationwide search, the CCLMC Executive Director Search Committee recommended Davis for the position, earning unanimous approval from the Board of Directors.

With more than 25 years of experience in management, tourism development, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement across corporate, nonprofit, and governmental sectors, Davis brings a strong record of leadership and innovation to the role.

“We are pleased to announce that Vickie Davis will be the new Executive Director of Capital City/Lake Murray Country beginning January 5, 2026,” said Jan Jernigan, Chair of the CCLMC Board of Directors. “She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organization, and we are confident in her leadership and ability to guide us forward as we continue serving our four-county region.”

A Lexington resident, Davis spent nearly a decade with CCLMC as Senior Vice President of Funding and Events before departing in 2024. During her tenure, she strengthened partnerships across Lexington, Richland, Newberry, and Saluda counties, led fundraising initiatives, and managed major regional events including Taste of Lake Murray and Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration, which raised more than $1.1 million under her direction. She also expanded CCLMC’s annual event portfolio to more than 20 tourism-driven experiences that generated significant economic impact for the region.

Most recently, Davis served as Senior Events Manager with The Post and Courier/South Carolina Event Productions, where she oversaw major community events such as the 2025 Columbia Food & Wine Festival, increasing revenue through sponsorships, ticket sales, and grants. Earlier in her career, she was Vice President and Branch Manager at BB&T (now Truist), gaining valuable experience in financial management, team leadership, and customer relations.

Beyond her professional work, Davis has been deeply involved in community service, serving as President and Vice President of the Village Square Theatre Board, and as Chair of the USC Aiken Midlands Alumni Chapter, where she launched the local chapter and initiated successful fundraising programs. She is also a Leadership Lexington County graduate, an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and a volunteer in multiple civic and youth programs.

“Seventeen years ago, I began my journey with this organization as a volunteer, and it’s truly an honor to be selected to serve as Executive Director,” said Davis. “I’m grateful for the confidence of the CCLMC board and inspired by the talented team that continues to advance the mission of promoting tourism in Lexington, Richland, Newberry, and Saluda Counties every day.”

As Executive Director, Davis will focus on strengthening partnerships, enhancing collaboration, and driving sustainable growth throughout the Capital City/Lake Murray Country region.
