WEST COLUMBIA — S. Jahue “Jake” Moore Sr., founding senior partner of Moore Bradley Myers (MBM), has been named one of the recipients of the 2026 Icon Honors.
Icon Honors recognizes South Carolina business leaders for notable professional success and strong leadership both within their fields and throughout their communities. The honor reflects not only professional achievement, but also leadership that shapes communities and inspires future generations.
Moore practices in the areas of civil litigation, education law and criminal law. For more than 50 years, he has served as a community advocate and legal counsel for clients throughout the Midlands.
He is also passionate about conservation, literacy and education. Moore has donated trees to local churches, roads, interchanges, schools and parks. He also helped secure land for Irmo Veterans Park.
The Town of Irmo renamed Irmo Community Park as Moore Park in his honor.
In addition to his legal and philanthropic accomplishments, Moore is a recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor. He has taught at the Joseph P. Rice School of Law and spoken at numerous legal education seminars.
Moore has also served on the Legislative Audit Council for the South Carolina General Assembly, as an alumni adviser to Pi Kappa Alpha at his alma mater, Presbyterian College, for 25 years, and as chairman of the University of South Carolina Board of Visitors.
His community involvement has also included serving as a Sunday school teacher at Ashland Methodist Church and as a founding member of both the West Columbia Beautification Committee and Irmo’s Arbor Day Committee.
