COLUMBIA, S.C. – Soda City Market has once again been nominated for the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the Farmers Market category.

After earning the top spot nationwide last year, the market now has the opportunity to defend its title among 20 markets selected by a panel of USA Today editors and industry experts.

“This nomination means even more the second time around,” said Erin Curtis, CEO and co-owner of the market. “Winning in 2025 was an incredible honor for our vendors and the city. To be nominated again affirms that what happens on Main Street every Saturday resonates far beyond Columbia.”

Curtis credited the market’s continued success to its vendors, customers, and partnerships that have helped it grow into a regional attraction.

Ryan Coleman, director of economic development for the City of Columbia, highlighted the market’s role in downtown revitalization.

“Over the past decade, we’ve seen a complete turnaround and revitalization of Columbia’s downtown, and one of the biggest contributing factors has undoubtedly been Soda City Market,” Coleman said. “It has become a gathering place for residents, a business hub for local merchants, and a key asset in recruiting new businesses.”

He added that the market played a role in attracting the Grand Bohemian Hotel Columbia to Main Street, noting that its weekly activity showcases the city’s growth and vibrancy.

The 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards are determined entirely by public vote. Supporters may vote once per day through April 13 at noon, with winners announced April 22 at noon.

Since its founding in 2005, Soda City Market has grown into Columbia’s weekly town square, drawing between 7,000 and 10,000 visitors each Saturday and featuring more than 200 vendors. The market maintains a producer-only model, offering a platform for farmers, artisans, makers, and entertainers while supporting small businesses across the Midlands.

Residents, alumni, students, and supporters are encouraged to cast daily votes and share the link throughout the voting period.
