MIDLANDS, S.C. — Dominion Energy will reopen its Lake Murray public parks for the 2026 recreation season beginning April 1.
The Lexington-side beach and recreation area at Lake Murray Dam will operate through Labor Day on Sept. 7. Visitors must reserve $5 day passes in advance through Dominion Energy’s online system, with reservations available up to three weeks ahead. Passes are valid for one entry per day and cannot be reused after exit.
“Lake Murray is a favorite summer destination for many visitors across the Midlands and beyond,” said Billy Chastain, manager of Lake Management for Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We’re excited to welcome guests back and encourage everyone to follow boating and swimming safety guidelines while enjoying the parks.”
Lexington-Side Beach & Recreation Area
- Season: April 1 – Sept. 7
- Hours: Weekdays 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.; weekends and holidays 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Admission: $5 per vehicle (advance reservation required)
- Notes: No lifeguards on duty; pets and alcohol prohibited
Irmo-Side Boat Launch Area
- Access:
- Boaters: 24 hours, year-round
- Non-boaters: 5 a.m. – 9 p.m., year-round
- Parking: $5 for boat trailers (April 1 – Sept. 7)
- Update: Cash payments will no longer be accepted; payment must be made online upon arrival
- Notes: No swimming; pets must be leashed; alcohol prohibited
