LEXINGTON, S.C. – A Gilbert man is facing multiple charges after Lexington County narcotics agents say they found fentanyl, meth, and ammunition in his home.

Gary Edward Ware Jr., 38, is charged with trafficking fentanyl, distributing meth, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to arrest warrants.

Sheriff Jay Koon said deputies had “previous encounters” with Ware and recently received intelligence about ongoing drug activity at his Hayride Road residence. A search warrant executed Saturday uncovered fentanyl, packaging materials, a digital scale, and other drugs, along with 9mm ammunition.

Because of a prior felony conviction, Ware is prohibited from possessing ammunition, Koon said.

Ware was arrested at the scene and remains in the Lexington County Detention Center.
