Team Knot Right, led by Captain Allen Rogers, secured the 2024 Team of the Year Championship for the Midlands Striper Club during their December tournament on Lake Murray. The event took place at Acapulco, SC, on December 21 and featured 17 teams competing in the family-oriented fishing club’s monthly event.

Participants brought 26 striped bass to the scales, weighing a total of 193.81 pounds, with an average of 7.45 pounds per fish. Twelve teams successfully recorded a full two-fish creel.

Team Knot Right claimed first place with an impressive total weight of 18.83 pounds. They also took home the Team Wildman Big Fish award, sponsored by The Nichols Store, with a 9.89-pound striped bass.

Second place went to Team Sea-n-Stripes, captained by Chip Bragg and joined by Ryan, Kendal, and Evan Eubanks, with a total weight of 17.83 pounds. Team Angler Quest, led by Ronnie Abbott and joined by Sandy Berry and Doug Bledsoe, finished third with a total of 17.40 pounds.

Special awards included:

  • Lady Angler Award: Sandy Berry (Team Angler Quest)
  • Youth Angler Award: Kendal Eubanks (Team Sea-n-Stripes)
  • Middle of the Pack: Team Fish On with 12.5 pounds
  • Smallest Creel: Team Well Hung with 5.41 pounds

 

The Midlands Striper Club is dedicated to preserving local fisheries for future generations. Their next event is the annual banquet on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Saluda Shoals River Club, followed by the next tournament on January 20 at Acapulco.
