The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has begun clearing and grubbing activities as part of Phase 3B of the Carolina Crossroads Project, impacting areas in Richland and Lexington counties.

This phase involves clearing approximately 170 acres of trees and underbrush around key interchanges, including I-20/I-26, St. Andrews Road/I-26, and Bush River Road/I-20. These activities are essential to prepare the area for utility relocations and subsequent construction work.

Most clearing will occur during daytime hours; however, some nighttime operations may require temporary lane closures.

SCDOT will host a public information meeting on January 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dutch Square Mall. Residents can review Phase 3B plans, learn more about clearing activities, and engage directly with the project team.
