COLUMBIA, S.C. – One of Columbia’s most beloved weekly traditions is gaining national attention. Soda City Market has been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the Farmers Market category, placing it among just 20 markets selected from across the country.
The nomination, chosen by a panel of USA Today editors and industry experts, highlights Soda City’s growing reputation as a premier destination for local food, handmade goods, and Southern hospitality.
“We’re beyond surprised and excited to receive this national nod,” said Erin Curtis, CEO and Co-Owner of Soda City Market. “This nomination celebrates more than the Market – it speaks to the incredible vendors who are the real superstars of Soda City, our loyal patrons, and the dynamic spirit of Columbia that make Soda City so special. Now, we’re calling on our community to help us bring this win home.”
The 10Best Awards are decided by public vote, and Soda City hopes to join fellow Columbia favorite Hotel Trundle, which has previously earned recognition in the competition.
Voting is open now through Monday, April 14 at noon, with winners announced Tuesday, April 23 at noon. Community members can vote once per day by visiting 10best.com/awards.
Held every Saturday on Columbia’s Main Street, Soda City Market features 200+ vendors and draws 7,000 to 10,000 visitors each week, year-round. Inspired by markets from around the world, it showcases the best of the Midlands – from fresh produce and local honey to street food, live music, and handmade art.
