The Annual Leon Irons’ Memorial Charity Golf Tournament will take place on September 16 at the Members Club at Wildewood Golf Course. Presented by Truist, this event provides a unique opportunity to play at a members-only club while supporting a worthy cause.

With limited team slots available and numerous sponsorship opportunities, early registration is highly encouraged. The funds raised will benefit The Big Red Barn Retreat, which helps veterans and first responders transition from PTSD to Post Traumatic Growth.

“We’re proud to sponsor the Leon Irons’ Memorial Charity Golf Tournament and help raise money for the Big Red Barn Retreat,” said Alex Brame, South Carolina regional president for Truist. “Our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities, and supporting veterans and first responders is one way we live our purpose.”

The tournament will run from 7 AM to 3 PM on September 16, with awards announced at 3 PM. Team registration costs $600, and you can sign up here. Various sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels, and companies can register and pay for sponsorships here.

Located in Blythewood, SC, The Big Red Barn Retreat is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing therapeutic services to veterans and first responders. Central to its mission is the Warrior PATHH (Progressive and Alternative Training for Helping Heroes) program, which is grounded in the evidence-based science of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG).

Post Traumatic Growth is a psychological phenomenon where individuals who endure trauma can experience positive personal growth as a result of their struggle. The Warrior PATHH program incorporates a range of holistic and integrative therapeutic practices, such as equine-assisted therapy, yoga, and wellness programs, to support this transformation. Through these services, participants are guided to harness their trauma as a catalyst for growth, gaining a renewed sense of purpose and strength.
