COLUMBIA — Target is bringing back its popular Car Seat Trade-In event from April 19 through May 2, giving local families an opportunity to recycle old car seats while saving on new baby gear.
During the bi-annual event, guests can bring in any used or outgrown car seat to participating stores and receive a 20 percent Target Circle bonus toward the purchase of new items.
Now in its 10th year, the program has made a significant environmental impact. According to Target, more than 58 million pounds of materials have been diverted from landfills and recycled into over 690,000 products, including items from its Brightroom and Room Essentials lines.
This year’s milestone event will also include additional in-store experiences aimed at helping families shop for growing households. On April 25 and 26, select stores will offer giveaways and samples of baby essentials, allowing customers to explore new products in the baby department.
The 2026 event also marks the first time the trade-in will feature Target’s Baby Concierge and Baby Boutique services, which launched in select South Carolina stores in March. These services provide both in-person and virtual guidance tailored to parents’ needs.
