Retired soccer coach Phillip Savitz has been inducted into the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors in high school sports. The induction ceremony was held last week in Chicago, Illinois.

Savitz, who retired in 2023, holds the record as South Carolina’s all-time winningest high school boys soccer coach. Over a remarkable 45-year career, he notched 824 wins and guided his teams to 14 state championships while coaching at Irmo and River Bluff High Schools.

Nationally, Savitz ranks fifth all-time in wins, a testament to his dedication, consistency, and impact on generations of student-athletes.
