The Lexington County Blowfish closed out the 2026 season on a losing note.<\/p>\n
Their 4-0 season-ending loss to the Forest City Owls was their eighth straight. It’s the longest losing streak for Lexington County since 2022 and it finished with an 18-29 record.<\/p>\n
Forest City finished second in the West Division. It opened the Petitt Cup Sunday with a 3-2 win over Asheboro ZooKeepers to reach the West Division final against the Macon Bacon.<\/p>\n
Despite the loss, the Blowfish and their fans provided a positive note to end the summer. The team held its annual online jersey auction to benefit charitable causes in Lexington County.<\/p>\n
This year’s team jersey theme was tied to the 250th celebration of the United States of America. The Blowfish raised $6,771 from the auction and co-owner Bill Shanahan will share the names of the benefiting organizations at a future date.<\/p>\n
In another positive note, the Blowfish completed their first season with the newly-installed AstroTurf with no home rainouts. The lone postponement at Lexington County Baseball Stadium was due to lightning, compared to three road rainouts.<\/p>\n
This weekend, new University of South Carolina head coach Kevin Schnall will hold a baseball camp at the stadium.<\/p>\n
