{"id":8433,"date":"2026-04-28T13:48:06","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T13:48:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/28\/early-giving-now-open-for-midlands-gives-day\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T13:48:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T13:48:06","slug":"early-giving-now-open-for-midlands-gives-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/28\/early-giving-now-open-for-midlands-gives-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Giving Now Open for Midlands Gives Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"145\" data-end=\"273\">Early giving for <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Midlands Gives Day<\/span><\/span> is officially underway and will continue through the main event on May 5.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"275\" data-end=\"512\">The early giving period offers donors the opportunity to support local nonprofits ahead of the big day while helping organizations qualify for sponsorship prizes&mdash;maximizing each contribution and expanding its impact across the community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"774\">Midlands Gives Day is a community-driven fundraising event that unites more than 500 nonprofit organizations serving 11 counties in the Midlands region: Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, and Sumter.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"1003\">Since its launch in 2014, Midlands Gives has raised more than $32.4 million for local nonprofits. Donors can visit MidlandsGives.org to explore causes, discover new organizations, and give directly to those making a difference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1156\">This year, more than $110,000 in prize incentives is being provided by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Central Carolina Community Foundation<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">In Good Company Partners<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1579\">In Good Company Partners include major supporters such as <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Aflac<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Dominion Energy<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Southeastern Freight Lines<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Truist<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">First Citizens Bank<\/span><\/span>, and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Columbia Fireflies<\/span><\/span>, among others. These contributions amplify donations, allowing each gift to go further.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1581\" data-end=\"1749\">In 2025, more than 10,000 donors across the Midlands supported local nonprofits. Organizers hope to build on that momentum this year through early and sustained giving.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1751\" data-end=\"2103\">&ldquo;Midlands Gives is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together as a community,&rdquo; said <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Georgia Mjartan<\/span><\/span>, president and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. &ldquo;Early giving allows nonprofits to build momentum, unlock additional funding opportunities, and continue the critical work they do every day.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2105\" data-end=\"2222\">On May 5, from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., the community is invited to participate by donating online at MidlandsGives.org.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2224\" data-end=\"2567\">As part of the celebration, the Foundation will host a Midlands Gives Day Block Party at <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Segra Park<\/span><\/span> from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
