The South Carolina Philharmonic<\/span><\/span> (SCP) will present its third annual Music in My Neighborhood<\/em> festival in the Cayce\/West Columbia area April 13–18.<\/p>\n

This weeklong initiative brings free performances, educational programs, and interactive events directly into the community, with appearances at public spaces, healthcare facilities, and local businesses.<\/p>\n

Highlighted events include:<\/p>\n

April 14, 7–8 p.m.<\/strong>
Chamber Crawl<\/em> – Steel Hands Brewing
Join the SC Phil Steel Band, led by Principal Percussionist Chris Lee<\/span><\/span>, for a high-energy evening of live music in a relaxed setting.<\/p>\n

April 15, 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m.<\/strong>
Soulful Strings<\/em> – Brookland Baptist Church Café<\/span><\/span>
The SC Phil quartet Soulful Strings<\/em> will perform during a gathering focused on food, fellowship, and music. Café proceeds will support local outreach efforts.<\/p>\n

April 15, 6–7 p.m.<\/strong>
Duet in the Stacks<\/em> – Cayce-West Columbia Branch Library<\/span><\/span>
Musicians John Wickey<\/span><\/span> and Wendy Cohen<\/span><\/span> will perform live as guests browse and read in a unique library setting.<\/p>\n

April 16, 6:30–7 p.m.<\/strong>
Pajama Story Time<\/em> – Cayce-West Columbia Branch Library<\/span><\/span>
Education & Outreach Director Susan Cafferty<\/span><\/span> and cellist Heidi Carey<\/span><\/span> will present a musical reading of I Know a Young Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello<\/em>.<\/p>\n

April 16, 7:30–8:30 p.m.<\/strong>
Chamber Crawl<\/em> – Savage Craft Ale Works
Enjoy an evening of classical music in a casual, social atmosphere.<\/p>\n

In addition to public performances, the festival includes interactive school visits to Fulmer Middle School<\/span><\/span>, Busbee Creative Arts Academy<\/span><\/span>, Airport High School<\/span><\/span>, Northside Middle School<\/span><\/span>, and Brookland-Cayce High School<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Musicians will also bring their Healing Harmonies program to Laurel Crest Retirement Community, Still Hopes Retirement Community, and Lexington Medical Center<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

The program is supported by the City of Cayce and a Connected Communities Grant from the Central Carolina Community Foundation<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n
