Lt. Luis Rivera has completed the FBI’s National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.<\/p>\n
“Luis’ graduation from this prestigious national program strengthens both his leadership and our agency,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The knowledge and experience he gained will help us continue delivering a high level of service to the people of Lexington County.”<\/p>\n
Koon said the FBI National Academy is a leadership and training program that less than one percent of law enforcement officers worldwide have the opportunity to attend.<\/p>\n
“For 10 weeks, the National Academy brings together law enforcement leaders from across the country and around the world to train, study and share ideas,” he said. “Those connections and the expertise gained during the program benefit agencies and the communities they serve.”<\/p>\n
The program offers advanced instruction in intelligence theory, terrorism and extremist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication and forensic science.<\/p>\n
Rivera joined the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in 2002. He has served as the department’s watch commander since 2019.<\/p>\n
The 297th session of the FBI National Academy included law enforcement professionals from 48 states, the District of Columbia and 24 countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
