However, an outpouring of public support and community response prompted organizers to reconsider, ensuring the festival will continue into its 66th year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"758\">Despite Gilbert&rsquo;s population of approximately 600 residents, the festival draws thousands of visitors to the area each year, making it one of Lexington County&rsquo;s most anticipated Independence Day traditions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"760\" data-end=\"1038\">The 2026 event, scheduled for July 4, will feature a parade, car show, craft vendor market, carnival rides, live music and a fireworks display to close out the celebration.
