{"id":7601,"date":"2025-09-05T16:04:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T16:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/05\/conservation-district-giving-away-free-seeds\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T16:04:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T16:04:27","slug":"conservation-district-giving-away-free-seeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/05\/conservation-district-giving-away-free-seeds\/","title":{"rendered":"Conservation District Giving Away Free Seeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"121\" data-end=\"310\">The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD) is once again offering free seeds to the community through its popular <strong data-start=\"250\" data-end=\"276\">Seed Sanctuary program<\/strong>&mdash;just in time for fall planting.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"438\">Richland County residents may pick up <strong data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"377\">up to four free packets<\/strong> of vegetable, herb, and wildflower seeds at two locations:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"439\" data-end=\"580\">\n<li data-start=\"439\" data-end=\"518\">\n<p data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"518\"><strong data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"484\">Richland County Administration Building<\/strong> (2020 Hampton Street, Columbia)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"580\">\n<p data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"580\"><strong data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"550\">Richland Library Eastover<\/strong> (608 Main Street, Eastover)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"582\" data-end=\"701\">Seeds can also be <strong data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"621\">requested by mail<\/strong> using an online form at <a class=\"decorated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/32wsab2c?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"698\">tinyurl.com\/32wsab2c<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"1046\">In addition, RSWCD staff will be bringing <strong data-start=\"745\" data-end=\"777\">Pop-Up Seed Sanctuary events<\/strong> to community gatherings throughout the growing season. Groups interested in hosting a seed giveaway can email Chelsea Holliday, administrative assistant for outreach and community engagement. Appearances are limited and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1314\">Launched in <strong data-start=\"1060\" data-end=\"1068\">2020<\/strong>, the Seed Sanctuary was created to encourage home gardening, improve food security, and support pollinator conservation.
