Columbia Animal Services has received a $50,000 grant<\/strong> from the national nonprofit Petco Love<\/strong> to support its ongoing efforts to save pets’ lives and connect animals with families in the Midlands.<\/p>\n Petco Love, a national nonprofit founded in 1999, works to strengthen communities by funding adoption programs and lifesaving initiatives for pets. Since its founding, the organization has invested nearly $421 million<\/strong> nationwide, helping to unite more than 7 million pets with new homes<\/strong> through partnerships with thousands of local animal welfare organizations.<\/p>\n The funding comes as part of $12 million recently distributed to organizations across the country<\/strong>, all aimed at Petco Love’s mission of creating a future where no pet is needlessly euthanized.<\/p>\n “Our investment in Columbia Animal Services is part of our commitment to empower local organizations to drive lifesaving change,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love<\/strong>. “We also launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost-and-found database that uses photo-matching technology to help reunite pets more easily with their families.”<\/p>\n Columbia Animal Services leaders say the investment will make a meaningful difference. Victoria Clary, Superintendent of Columbia Animal Services<\/strong>, called the grant “truly impactful,” adding: “Their partnership allows us to focus more intentionally on increasing life-saving efforts through enhancing pet enrichment programs and a more robust adoption experience.
