A Senior League state title and winning the Southeast Region title by dethroning the defending Little League Baseball World Series champions in comeback fashion.<\/p>\n
Those were just a couple of the accomplishments of the 2025 Irmo Little League Majors this summer.<\/p>\n
Over the past eight days, the 12-year-old roster under head coach Dave Bogan made more history. With Wednesday’s comeback win over Sioux Falls, S.D., Irmo became the first South Carolina-based team to win three games at the 78-year-old tournament.<\/p>\n
Thursday night at Lamade Stadium, it was two outs away from advancing to the United States championships. A win over Summerlin South (Nev.) would also avenge the second of two post-season losses suffered by Irmo.<\/p>\n
A 3-run homer by Garrett Gallegos in the Top 6th off Palmer Steele erased their one-run lead. Irmo was unable to sustain a final rally and saw its season end with a 5-3 loss.<\/p>\n
Both Joe Giulietti and Brody Miller homered for Irmo. Sutton Gravelle had an RBI walk in the Top 6th to give Irmo a lead before Gallegos’ homer.<\/p>\n
Summerlin South will meet Fairfield (Conn.) in Saturday’s U.S. final. The winner will face International champion Asia-Pacific or Carribbean Sunday for the World Series title.<\/p>\n
Irmo concludes its season with a 14-3 postseason record<\/strong> and a legacy as one of the most successful Little League teams in South Carolina history.
