COLUMBIA – The South Carolina State Museum has announced the return of its Harvesting Heritage<\/strong> event series, beginning with Harvesting Heritage: Changing Tides<\/strong> on Thursday, August 22, from 6 – 8:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year’s opening program will honor the past and future of creativity, innovation, and artistry in Black foodways across South Carolina<\/strong>. Guests will enjoy a crab crack reception<\/strong> catered by Donnie Green’s Catering, followed by a discussion panel featuring award-winning Chef Amethyst Ganaway<\/strong>, Tia Clark<\/strong>, owner of Casual Crabbing with Tia<\/em>, and Keisha Rainey<\/strong>, food systems leader at Roots & Rain<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to bring back Harvesting Heritage for another powerful year of honoring the deep-rooted traditions and evolving stories of Black foodways in South Carolina,” said Amy Bartow-Melia<\/strong>, State Museum Executive Director. “We look forward to gathering once again to uplift voices, share knowledge, and celebrate the stewards of our land and waters.”<\/p>\n
