The Reading Lab is designed specifically for English-speaking adults who struggle with reading and want to gain confidence with everyday tasks like reading menus, street signs, instructions, and simple books.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"974\">&ldquo;This class is built to give adults a space where reading feels possible again,&rdquo; said <strong data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"829\">Susanna Shastri<\/strong>, program instructor for the Reading Lab. &ldquo;We will start small, work collaboratively, and celebrate every letter, word, or sentence that clicks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1165\">The class is small, supportive, and stress-free &mdash; <strong data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1066\">no grades, no tests, and no pressure<\/strong>. Learners can enroll on-site by simply showing up, or call <strong data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1142\">803-216-5663<\/strong> to join ahead of time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1411\">The Reading Lab is part of Literacy SC&rsquo;s mission to make reading well a reality for all. Since 1968, the organization has helped thousands of adults through its free one-on-one tutoring program, which is still available alongside the new class.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1413\" data-end=\"1570\">Volunteers are also needed to help with setup, greet students, hand out materials, and support new learners.
