With a new headquarters, the launch of a grassroots artist grant, and the next round of its popular artist-in-residence program, One Columbia continues to strengthen its role in shaping Columbia&rsquo;s cultural landscape.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"680\" data-end=\"938\">The organization is officially relocating its headquarters from Duke Avenue to the historic <strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"794\">Ensor Keenan House<\/strong>, located at <strong data-start=\"807\" data-end=\"830\">801 Wildwood Avenue<\/strong>. This move marks a significant milestone in the group&rsquo;s longstanding partnership with the City of Columbia.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"1248\">\n<p data-start=\"942\" data-end=\"1248\">&ldquo;This space has the potential to truly bring art and culture to life in a community-centered way,&rdquo; said <strong data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1062\">Xavier Blake<\/strong>, Executive Director of One Columbia. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re grateful to the City of Columbia for their support, and we&rsquo;re excited about the possibilities in a place with such rich history and promise.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1250\" data-end=\"1355\">Columbia Mayor <strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1286\">Daniel Rickenmann<\/strong> echoed those sentiments, emphasizing the broader impact of the move.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1357\" data-end=\"1739\">\n<p data-start=\"1359\" data-end=\"1739\">&ldquo;This move for One Columbia is more than just a change of address; it&rsquo;s a strategic step forward in our shared vision to foster a dynamic arts scene here in the Capital City,&rdquo; said Rickenmann. &ldquo;The move to the historic Ensor Keenan House signifies a deeper commitment to embedding arts and culture across our city, making creativity more accessible and visible for all residents.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1785\">Artist Assistance Grant Program Launches<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"2196\">Along with its relocation, One Columbia is launching the <strong data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"1871\">Artist Assistance Grant<\/strong>, a new initiative aimed at providing local artists with unrestricted support. Seeded with $2,000 from a generous community donor and a matching contribution, the fund will award <strong data-start=\"2050\" data-end=\"2071\">two $1,000 grants<\/strong> to help artists continue their creative work &mdash; whether that means covering materials, studio rent, or even rest and renewal.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2366\">\n<p data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2366\">&ldquo;General support funding is rare but essential,&rdquo; said Blake. &ldquo;We want to empower artists to use the funds in the ways that will most meaningfully support their work.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2368\" data-end=\"2414\">Details on how to apply will be released soon.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2416\" data-end=\"2451\">Garage Studio Residency Returns<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2453\" data-end=\"2745\">Applications open <strong data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2483\">August 1<\/strong> for the second cohort of <strong data-start=\"2509\" data-end=\"2530\">The Garage Studio<\/strong>, One Columbia&rsquo;s free artist-in-residence program offering studio space and professional development.
