{"id":7473,"date":"2025-08-04T14:23:45","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T14:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/04\/batesburg-man-arrested-after-two-day-search\/"},"modified":"2025-08-04T14:23:45","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T14:23:45","slug":"batesburg-man-arrested-after-two-day-search","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/04\/batesburg-man-arrested-after-two-day-search\/","title":{"rendered":"Batesburg Man Arrested After Two-Day Search"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"138\" data-end=\"291\"><strong data-start=\"138\" data-end=\"157\">LEXINGTON, S.C.<\/strong> &ndash; An anonymous tip from the community helped Lexington County deputies locate and arrest a Batesburg man following a two-day manhunt.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"293\" data-end=\"507\">Cordell Wyman Clark, 26, was taken into custody Wednesday morning and charged with resisting arrest and failure to stop for a blue light, according to records from the Lexington County Detention Center.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"814\">&ldquo;The search for Clark, who was already wanted in Aiken County, began after a shooting was reported Tuesday afternoon on Perry Taylor Road,&rdquo; said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. &ldquo;Fortunately, no one was injured or struck during the incident, but our investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"944\">Deputies spent Tuesday and part of Wednesday searching for Clark until a tip led them to a residence on Reedy O. Smith Road.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"1087\">&ldquo;As deputies approached the house, Clark fled out the back door,&rdquo; Koon said. &ldquo;We deployed a K-9 unit and drone team to assist in the search.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1226\">Clark was eventually located in a home in the 500 block of Perry Taylor Road, the same area where the original shooting was reported.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1300\">He is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LEXINGTON, S.C. &ndash; An anonymous tip from the community helped Lexington County deputies locate and arrest a Batesburg man following a two-day manhunt.
