As board chair, I look forward to championing the astounding strides made by our learners, volunteers, staff and board members.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Other 2025 board officers include:<\/p>\n<p>Nitiki Satterwhite as Vice Chair<br \/>Dr. LeConte&rsquo; Middleton as Secretary<br \/>Suzanne Miller as Treasurer<br \/>Alana Reynolds as Internal Committee Chair<br \/>Matt Steinmetz as External Committee Chair<\/p>\n<p>These volunteers represent a wide range of industries from library service to education to entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I became involved with Literacy SC because I was incredibly impressed by the success of its learners,&rdquo; said Treasurer Suzanne Miller, founder of EssayFaire. &ldquo;Literacy and numeracy are essential to a civil and vibrant society, and each person who becomes more literate strengthens our foundations while becoming more personally capable and engaged with the world.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Alongside a small staff, volunteers are the backbone of Literacy SC&rsquo;s three-county success.<\/p>\n<p>The organization offers several ways to get involved in Richland, Lexington and Aiken Counties:<\/p>\n<p>Private Tutors (2-3 hours per week)<br \/>Board Members (4-6 hours per month)<br \/>Remote Wellness Callers (1 hour per month)<br \/>Literacy Link Drop Bags volunteers<br \/>Kit Packers (quarterly)<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I am thrilled to be an officer on Literacy SC&rsquo;s board,&rdquo; said External Committee Chair Matt Steinmetz, patron training and technology coordinator for Lexington County Public Library. &ldquo;I was lucky enough to have teachers in high school and middle school who refused to give up on me as a reluctant learner.
