The <strong>Columbia Streams Art Program<\/strong> is now accepting applications for micro-grants ranging from <strong>$500 to $1,500<\/strong>, awarding funding to <strong>20 local artists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible projects must align with one of the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Celebrating Columbia&rsquo;s History:<\/strong> Artwork should amplify the rich history and stories of Columbia.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promoting River Awareness:<\/strong> Projects should enhance public knowledge of Columbia&rsquo;s rivers&mdash;the Saluda, Broad, and Congaree&mdash;and encourage recreational activities at river access points.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advancing Sustainability:<\/strong> Art should address issues like climate change, heat reduction, beautification, and conservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The micro-grants are open to <strong>artists who live or work in the Columbia area<\/strong>, with preference given to those who have previously exhibited in Columbia or the greater South Carolina region.<\/p>\n<p>To apply and review full submission criteria, visit <strong>Mayor Daniel Rickenmann&rsquo;s information page<\/strong> on the <strong>City of Columbia website<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/mayor.columbiasc.gov\/micro-grant-submission-form\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/mayor.columbiasc.gov\/micro-grant-submission-form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> <strong>5 p.m. on February 10<\/strong>.
