The second annual South Carolina American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame ceremony is set for Thursday at Seawell’s Restaurant.<\/p>\n
This year’s Class of 2024 includes eight inductees:<\/p>\n
– Justin Hawkins (Chapin\/Newberry Post 193\/24)
– Mookie Wilson (Orangeburg Post 4)
– Bill Spiers (Orangeburg Post 4)
– Joe Clayton (Charleston Post 147)
– Wally Jones (Sumter Post 15)
– Jessie Campbell (Spartanburg Post 28)
– Tommy Moody (Columbia Post 6)
– Steven Keibler James (Greenwood Post 20)<\/p>\n
Hawkins was a member of the 2015 American Legion World Series champions that posted a 32-1 record. It was the first South Carolina team to win the title in 79 years and Hawkins was named the George W. Ruion American Legion Player of the Year.<\/p>\n
