<\/p>\nThe University of South Carolina has announced the third annual “A Celebration of Dawn Staley” featuring Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America. Roberts will join Staley for a fireside chat to discuss Staley’s life and career at this fundraising event, scheduled for August 13.<\/p>\n
The event will take place at the Pastides Alumni Center (900 Senate Street) in Columbia, with doors opening at 6 pm. The evening will highlight the Dawn Staley Champions Fund and celebrate three-time National Champion South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley. Additionally, the event will honor the Gamecock women’s basketball team’s historic undefeated 2023-24 season.<\/p>\n
Through donor support and the August 13 event, the Dawn Staley Champions Fund is positively impacting the futures of USC students. The Champions Fund supports scholarships for first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and underrepresented students and student-athletes at USC. By providing financial aid for tuition and educational expenses, the fund creates equal opportunities for success—principles that Staley has long championed.<\/p>\n
“Education is the key that unlocks the potential within everyone regardless of their background or circumstances,” Staley said. “Scholarships ensure that financial barriers do not hinder the pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.
