The incident reportedly began as a road rage altercation.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Deputies interviewed a group of witnesses right after this happened, which we believe started as a road rage incident,&rdquo; said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. &ldquo;The witnesses all told deputies Cason fired a handgun into the air as he drove, then pointed it toward the car beside him and fired more shots.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Koon also mentioned that beer bottles and cans were thrown from Cason&rsquo;s car towards the other vehicle before the shots were fired. Deputies collected evidence from the scene, including multiple shell casings, which matched the accounts provided by witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>During their investigation, deputies identified Cason as the alleged shooter.
