The ceremony, held on March 14th at the Village of Southlake, celebrated Medley\u2019s dedication as a Red Cross Recreational Worker in Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thenewirmonews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/MiriamRhameMedleyID_2024_630x350.jpg?w=1440&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11657\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Red Cross Recreational Worker Miriam Rhame Medley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Joined by 100 family and friends, including SC Ambassadors Shelly Langston, Barb Kucharczyk, and Denise Scarboro, Medley was honored by The Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation. This esteemed foundation aims to honor women\u2019s contributions to national defense and inspire future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medley\u2019s service with the American Red Cross Clubmobile Program in Vietnam began in 1966. She provided recreational programs and activities to military personnel, bringing a \u201ctouch of home\u201d to those stationed far from America. Her assignments took her to various locations, including An Khe and Cam Ranh Bay Air Base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the ceremony, tributes were paid by Sarah Masters of the American Red Cross, as well as Miguel Ortiz, Congressional Fellow of US Congressman Joe Wilson\u2019s Office. Retired US Army Colonel Tom Fincher, who served alongside Medley in Vietnam, commended her dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thenewirmonews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/MiriamRhameMedleyService_2024_630x350.jpg?w=1440&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11659\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Shelly Langston, Barb Kucharczyk, Miriam Medley, and Denise Scarboro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Medley was presented with a Resolution from the SC State Senate, sponsored by SC State Senator Katrina Shealy, and received a letter of gratitude from SC Governor Henry McMaster.
