{"id":5825,"date":"2024-02-22T15:48:24","date_gmt":"2024-02-22T15:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/22\/midlands-striper-club-holds-february-tournament\/"},"modified":"2024-02-22T15:48:24","modified_gmt":"2024-02-22T15:48:24","slug":"midlands-striper-club-holds-february-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpstrianglenews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/22\/midlands-striper-club-holds-february-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"Midlands Striper Club holds February tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Special to the Lake Murray News<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Midlands Striper Club held its monthly tournament on Lake Murray out of Acapulco, SC on Feb. 17.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-two teams participated in the event bringing thirty-four striped bass to the scales weighing a total of 278.67 pounds with an 8.20-pound average. Fifteen teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.<\/p>\n<p>Team Reel Guys, captained by Marshall West and Joby Wetzel, continued its strong showings with another first-place finish in winning TWT. They had a total weight of 22.61 pounds. <br \/>Team Reel Guys also won the Team Wildman Big Fish award sponsored by the Nichols Store with a 12.56-pound striper.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing in second place with a total weight of 19.41 pounds was Team Sea-n-Stripes captained by Chip Bragg along with Ryan Eubanks, Hunter Bragg, and Kendal Eubanks. Finishing in third place with a total weight of 19.12 pounds was Team Been Lure&rsquo;d In captained by John Temple along with Ty Taylor.<\/p>\n<p><b>Other award winners:<\/b><br \/>Lady Angler Award &#8211; Amelia Keller (Team Knot Right)<br \/>Youth Angler Awards &#8211; Hunter Bragg and Kendal Eubanks (Team Sea-n-Stripes) <br \/>Middle of the Pack &#8211; Team Even Kreel<br \/>Smallest Creel &#8211; Team Wynn One (6.07 lbs.)<br \/>The Synergy Therapy Live Release Award winner &#8211; Team Reel Guys (12.56-pound striper)<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gpstrianglenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/BraggandEubanks_2024_630x350.jpg?resize=630%2C350\" alt=\"Youth Anglers\" width=\"630\" height=\"350\" align=\"center\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Above are Hunter Bragg and Kendal Eubanks.<\/p>\n<p>Midlands Striper Club will hold its next monthly meeting March 12 at 7 p.m. at the Flight Deck in Lexington.
