The group&rsquo;s mission is to encourage voters to&nbsp;<strong>VOTE YES<\/strong>&nbsp;to the penny sales tax referendum that will be on the ballot in Lexington County on November 8th.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Coalition, led by local Lexington County Chambers of Commerce &ndash;&nbsp;<strong>Lexington Chamber, Batesburg-Leesville Chamber, Cayce West Columbia Chamber, and the Greater Irmo Chamber &ndash;<\/strong>&nbsp;also includes the&nbsp;<strong>Lexington County Development Corporation, 1Voice Lexington County,<\/strong>&nbsp;and others.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One of the top complaints of Lexington County residents is the condition of, and congestion on, our roads. The proposed&nbsp;<strong>Capital Project Sales Tax<\/strong>&nbsp;provides a solution to these issues,&rdquo; said Angelle LaBorde, Lexington Chamber President and CEO.&nbsp; &ldquo;This is the best solution to raise funds without raising property taxes. And if not now, then when?&rdquo; she said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Lexington County, the&nbsp;<strong>Capital Project Sales Tax<\/strong>&nbsp;would raise an estimated $536 million dollars over eight years.
