James C. Hester,\nSr., age 61, has pled guilty in Lexington County to Criminal Sexual Conduct\nwith a Minor – Third Degree for sexually abusing a child under the age of 11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The child\nreported the abuse occurred over the course of a year, beginning in the summer\nof 2017, when she was 9 years old. The Lexington County Sheriff\u2019s Department\ninvestigated the case. The victim was able to give detailed information\nregarding the assault during an interview with a local Child Advocacy Center.\nHester had a previous conviction for Assault and Battery of a High and\nAggravated Nature from 2011 that was originally charged as Criminal Sexual\nConduct with a Minor – First Degree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Walton J.\nMcLeod, IV sentenced Hester to 15 years in prison. This charge is classified as\na violent offense. Hester is required to register as a sex offender and will be\nsubject to electronic monitoring upon his release from the Department of\nCorrections. The case was investigated by Inv. Michael Hart who spoke at the\nhearing and stated \u201cthese types of cases are some of the most heinous crimes\u201d\nthat law enforcement handles.
