Holiday Lights on the River—an annual tradition that transforms Saluda Shoals Park into a shimmering winter wonderland—is now running nightly through December 31.

The event features millions of sparkling lights and animated scenes. Now in its 23rd year, Holiday Lights on the River remains the Midlands’ largest drive-through light show, welcoming more than 110,000 visitors last season. Guests enter at 6071 St. Andrews Road and exit onto Bush River Road, traveling a three-mile route illuminated by more than a million lights and hundreds of animated displays.

Fan-favorite themed areas return, including the 12 Days of Christmas, the Lake Murray Country display, and the patriotic section. This year also brings several new additions:

  • A custom 3D animated Santa dunking booth designed by students from Lexington-Richland School District Five’s Center for Advanced Technical Studies

  • A new car added to the Saluda Shoals Train display

  • A cheerful new Rudy’s Tree Lot scene

Holiday Lights on the River also offers activities included with admission. Visitors can enjoy a hayride, train ride, tube slides, and a laser light show along the Wetland Walking Trail. Children may write Letters to Santa and explore Santa’s Claus’et Gift Shop. Concessions and classic seasonal treats will be available, along with the tradition of roasting marshmallows.

Santa will be on-site for visits on Nov. 28–29; Dec. 5–7; Dec. 12–14; and Dec. 18–23, with professional photos available for purchase.

While activities will not be offered on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day, the drive-through light show will remain open on those dates.
