Organist Paul Thomas will present a recital on October 27 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, located at 1100 Sumter Street, Columbia. The event, sponsored by the Greater Columbia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, is free and open to the public. Following the recital, Trinity Cathedral’s Choral Evensong Service will take place at 4 p.m.
Thomas, who recently became the Director of Music and Organist at Trinity Cathedral, brings a wealth of experience to the role. His background includes serving in Episcopal churches across Chattanooga, Charleston, and at Yale University. He holds degrees in organ performance from Furman University and Yale University, along with a Certificate in Church Music Studies from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. An active recitalist, vocal soloist, and accompanist, Thomas has performed throughout the southeastern United States and accompanied choral residencies at various cathedrals in the UK
