LEXINGTON, S.C. – A man from Swansea has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident early Tuesday morning that left one person dead and another injured. The altercation is believed to have stemmed from a prior dispute with one of the victims.
Joey Len Inabinet Jr., 29, faces multiple charges including murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to the arrest warrants.
“Early Tuesday morning, a deputy responded to a call reporting a shooting at a residence on Calvary Church Road,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. “Upon arrival, the deputy discovered a man who had been shot but was still conscious and breathing. A witness then informed the deputy that another person had been shot further down the road. The deputy administered CPR to the second shooting victim until emergency medical services arrived. Unfortunately, the second victim was later pronounced dead.”
Sheriff Koon added, “Shell casings found at the scene matched a gun that we have linked to Inabinet. Our investigation into this incident is ongoing, but we are relieved to have Inabinet in custody.”
Inabinet was apprehended late Tuesday morning and is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center. Further details on the incident and ongoing investigation are expected to be released as they become available.
