The Spirit of Lake Murray was spotted heading to the water last week near Agnew Lake Services. The cruise vessel has been undergoing an extensive overhaul from the waterline up and the plan is for the sea-worthy vessel to be included in the Lake Murray Christmas Light Boat Parade to be held on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The parade is free to the public and gates open at the Lake Murray Dam Public Park in Lexington at 4:30. The parade commences at 6 p.m. Boats must be 21 feet or longer to participate and entries close on November 27.
There will be a cash prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Fireworks will end the show.
