Keep the Midlands Beautiful’s Grinding of the Greens Christmas Tree Recycling Program is underway through January 21.
Hours and locations vary.
Drop-off locations are near you in Lexington and Richland Counties.
Keep the Midlands Beautiful (KMB) coordinates the Grinding of the Greens Christmas tree recycling program for Richland and Lexington counties.
Grinding of the Greens educates the public about recycling and saves landfill space by grinding Christmas trees into mulch or reusing them for erosion control or fish and wildlife habitats. Since 1991, Grinding of the Greens has diverted hundreds of thousands of Christmas trees from local landfills, saving millions of cubic feet of landfill space.
