Parade attendees are encouraged to arrive early.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This year&rsquo;s parade theme is <strong>&ldquo;Once Upon a Strut!&rdquo;<\/strong>, celebrating storytelling and fairy tales.<\/p>\n<h3>Friday, Sept. 25<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><strong>6 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; House DJ\/Music<\/li>\n<li><strong>6:45 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Welcome<\/li>\n<li><strong>6:50 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; National Anthem<\/li>\n<li><strong>7 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Big Time Band<\/li>\n<li><strong>8:30 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Okra Eating Contest<\/li>\n<li><strong>8:45 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Laser Light Show<\/li>\n<li><strong>9 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Monsters of Yacht<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Saturday, Sept. 26<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><strong>11 a.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Dixiana and Leon Everette<\/li>\n<li><strong>Noon<\/strong> &mdash; SC Christian Dance Theater<\/li>\n<li><strong>12:30 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Freeway Music<\/li>\n<li><strong>3 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Kids&rsquo; Okra Eating Contest<\/li>\n<li><strong>4 p.m.<\/strong> &mdash; Elizabeth as Taylor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Friday night&rsquo;s entertainment begins with the Big Time Band at 7 p.m. The band performs music spanning a variety of genres.<\/p>\n<p>The Irmo Okra Strut is a longtime community tradition featuring live entertainment, contests, food and activities for all ages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IRMO, S.C. &mdash; The 51st annual Irmo Okra Strut will return to Moore Park Sept. 25-26, bringing two days of music, entertainment, food and family activities to the community.
