LEXINGTON, S.C. –<\/strong> The town of Lexington is inviting the community to step back in time and experience history like never before at “The Shot Heard Round The World,” a special event marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.<\/p>\n

When:<\/strong> April 19, 2025 | 4:30 – 8:00 p.m.<\/strong>
Where:<\/strong> Old Mill Pond Trail, Lexington<\/p>\n

This event will highlight the battle that changed history and gave Lexington its name. It will feature historical exhibits, live demonstrations, and a special toast in honor of the Revolution.<\/p>\n

Event Highlights:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

🔹 Living History Exhibits<\/strong> – Learn what life was like during the Revolutionary War through interactive displays.
🔹 Lantern Tours<\/strong> – Walk through history with actors from the Soda City Theatre Company<\/strong>, bringing colonial times to life.
🔹 Cannon Demonstrations<\/strong> – Experience the power of the past as real cannons fire over the pond.
🔹 Hands-On History<\/strong> – Explore historical artifacts and activities with the Cayce Historical Museum<\/strong> and Lexington County Museum<\/strong>.
🔹 A Special Tribute<\/strong> – At 7:30 p.m.<\/strong>, attendees will raise a glass of locally made cinnamon whiskey from Hollow Creek Distillery<\/strong> in honor of the “Shot Heard Round the World.” (A non-alcoholic option will also be available.)<\/p>\n

This event is a great opportunity for families, history lovers, and community members to learn, experience, and celebrate our nation’s history together.<\/p>\n

About 250 American Revolution: Lexington County<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 250 American Revolution: Lexington County committee was created in 2023 as part of the statewide SC250 initiative. Its goal is to preserve, share, and honor Lexington County’s role in the American Revolution.<\/p>\n
