Saluda Shoals Park is celebrating the opening of a new TRACK Trail today, April 25th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 1 pm at the Greenway trailhead, located across from the Environmental Center in Saluda Shoals Park.<\/p>\n

Funded by an Environmental Stewardship Grant from Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, this new TRACK Trail is the first of two in Saluda Shoals Park. The second TRACK Trail will be situated near Leo’s Landing Playground on the east end of the park. Additionally, two more TRACK Trails are planned for other ICRC parks: one at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin and another at Mungo Park on Lake Murray Blvd. These locations will provide visitors with opportunities to learn about nature while enjoying activities at the parks.<\/p>\n

Jason Urroz, Director for Kids in Parks, expressed the hope that each TRACK Trail will engage children in the joys of outdoor exploration, ultimately aiming to help families develop a deeper appreciation for nature and public lands.<\/p>\n

The Saluda Shoals Park TRACK Trails offer a range of self-guided activities that transform a simple hike into an exciting adventure filled with discoveries. Activities such as Nature’s Hide and Seek and Flower Power encourage kids to explore their surroundings and learn about the natural world.<\/p>\n

Children who participate in the program can register their TRACK Trail adventures at KidsinParks.com to earn prizes designed to enhance their outdoor experiences. Since its inception, the program has seen over a million TRACK Trail adventures completed by kids.<\/p>\n

Lindsay Hudson, Saluda Shoals Park Director, believes that the new TRACK Trail will inspire visitors to make discoveries along the park’s trails and provide valuable learning opportunities about nature and wildlife.<\/p>\n
